About this Project

Crystal Structures, a renowned manufacturer of architectural glazing systems, provided a stunning 20-foot ridgelite for the North lobby of the White Flint One building, which houses the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) just outside of Washington, DC. The ridgelite, a prominent feature of the lobby, allows natural light to stream into the space, creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and staff alike.

The NRC, established in 1975, is responsible for overseeing energy-producing reactors, licensing radioactive materials, ensuring radionuclide safety, and managing the storage, security, recycling, and disposal of spent fuel. The White Flint complex, consisting of three buildings, accommodates nearly 4,000 NRC employees.
