About this Project
About an hour West of Omaha Nebraska you’ll find the town of Norfolk, home of the Divots “D’events” Conference Center at the Norfolk Lodge & Suites. This unique facility recently enhanced its ambiance and event capabilities with the addition of a custom-built glass walkway solarium created and installed by Crystal Structures.
The striking new solarium stretches more than 65 feet along the back patio of the Sandbar & Grill restaurant and microbrewery. Its gleaming glass walls and vaulted ceiling create a bright, welcoming sunroom for visitors to relax and take in views of the outdoor patio seating areas.
The lean-to style glass structure features a gently sloping roof that attaches seamlessly to the existing building architecture. Its open design with glass on three sides allows sunlight to filter through while buffering winds and weather. The solarium’s reddish-brown colored framing blends with the facility’s existing color scheme for a coordinated aesthetic.

At over 12 feet wide, the solarium offers ample circulation space for meandering between the bar area and outdoor seating. Its addition transforms an ordinary patio into vibrant gathering space that can accommodate special events. The glazing system brings visual depth and expands the venue’s ambiance and flexibility.
Custom Craftsmanship
Crystal Structures leveraged over a decade of specialty glazing expertise to design and build the distinctive glass walkway addition.
