New Project Announcement
The world’s largest privately owned software company is adding another building on its 400-acre campus in Cary NC. The entries will feature canopies by Crystal Structures.
About SAS
SAS, which stands for “statistical analysis system,” started as a project at North Carolina State University in 1966. Originally the analytics software was intended to run agricultural data to improve crop yields. It became apparent, however, that having software to perform advanced analytics would be useful across many different industries.
Building A, featuring canopies by Crystal Structures
In 1976 SAS was incorporated and today SAS is first in the advanced analytics market worldwide. The software suite developed by SAS Institute provides multivariate analysis, business intelligence, data management, and predictive analysis for any type of business. They are fifth largest provider of business intelligence and by far the largest privately owned independent software vendor.
Led by billionaire CEO Jim Goodnight, company employs over 14,000 people globally. They are the largest employer in Cary NC with 5200 people working at the headquarters. They have been voted as one of the world’s best places to work.
The newest building on campus, “Building A,” will be LEED certified, as are all the SAS buildings located off of Harrison Ave. The energy to run Building A will be sourced from the company’s own on-site solar farm.
Crystal Structures is proud to be a part of this project by providing 3 distinct canopies ranging in size from 18′ x 20′ to 200′ x 12′. Building A is slated to open in the first quarter of 2019.
Project Complete
SAS Building A opened to company employees in 2019. As a bonus, the SAS campus was featured in Iron Man as “Stark Industries.”
